After reading "My Fight For Birth Control", I was curious to read up on current thoughts of abortion and birth control that is in the media today. I was appalled to learn that some people don't think abortion is necessary in any circumstance, even when a pregnancy puts the woman's life in jeopardy. People argue that with the modern use of technology and science today any issue concerning pregnancy can be resolved. I think that this is not only false but a offensive remark to make because it is saying that woman are not allowed to be in control of their own bodies. They are saying that no matter the case, abortion is never necessary. Another comment was made that referred to women who get pregnant due to getting raped. This man said that these acts must have not been a legitimate rapes because women can control their bodies to prevent pregnancy, whihc is absolutely absurd. It is not surprising that many men are the ones to make such ignorant, offensive remarks about women bodies and abortion. Although I believe abortion is a not a easily made decision whatsoever, I still think that women should be able to make their own decisions, since it it is dealing with their own body.

"woman are not allowed to be in control of their own bodies" I also find this line very disturbing, first of all men don't have a woman's body so how could they possibly understand what its like to go through a pregnancy? We should not force woman who would rather have an abortion than give birth have that choice, because sometimes that is the right decision for the mother. What could be worse than making a woman who doesn't want a child in the first place have a child? the poor child will not get the life it deserves
